News starting sequence analysis
The news starting sequence that I am analysing is the one for BBC news.
The first thing that you see in this starting sequence is a view of the world from space, this is a common theme for news starting sequences as it shows that the news gets information from all over the globe. the music is very beat driven has a fast pace which connotes urgency. There are rushing graphics at the start which also connotes urgency. There is also names of famous cities from around the world in black, bold capitals which connotes importance. The news reporter will always have a very 'normal accent' which audiences cant actually tell what accent it is, this is called received pronunciation. They will always make perfect eye contact with the camera to make it look like the audience is actually talking to the audience. Reporters will never show emotion as they will be showing their opinion on the matter which is against the law for news programes, they have to be impartial.
Good work, if a little concise!
